Sonic the Hedgehog
When a strange little blue hedgehog lands on an alien world, he is completely alone. A world called Earth. Now, to get away from an impending threat, he must team up with the local sheriff of Green Hill and fend off those who want to use the hedgehog’s power. Especially, the world’s most arrogant, brilliant, genius, Dr Robotnik.
This was a terrific film with a big opening scene. The story is well told and keeps you not wanting to blink, so you don’t miss a second of it. Every character and design was well thought through. Jim Carey’s portrait of Dr Robotnik was spot on in getting the personality down with an arrogant, pompous, smart and superior attitude. This film has great humour with a lot of fun references and jokes. Really big action scenes and a few heart-warming moments and feels.
I was a little sceptical at first having a live action Sonic film. I’m sure everyone was after seeing the first trailer for this film. It was a good thing they took their time because the final finish was well worth it. Awesome soundtrack, not over the top CGI and a wonderful new take on the origin of Sonic. There are some familiar faces for those who have grown up playing the games and a fun secret clip in the credits. I had hoped it would go a little longer. Overall 4 ½ out of 5 Stars
