Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
The resistance is running short on allies. Master Skywalker is gone and the First Order is building in strength. Now Rey and her team struggle to find the last chance they have to win this war or die trying.
No matter the outcome, this story will end. All the characters have grown exceptionally throughout this franchise. Although there are some cheesy moments and some re-enactments from some of the original films, the story still flowed well. This film had a big opening to it with an old evil enemy returning and an impressive light show. The big final battle was epic. (Warning. If you are sensitive to lights flashing rapidly, take care) Lightsabre fights were well spread out and choreographed well. Explosions were over the top but that is what you want and we finally learn the origin of Rey. There is a very satisfying ending to all the characters stories.
If you enjoy a good sci-fi film and have enjoyed the franchise, then you will enjoy this film. Everyone has worked hard to make these films great, Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (General Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), John Boyega (FN2187 a.k.a Fin) and Oscar Isaac (Poe). Even though Carrie didn’t get to see the final film, I’m sure she would have been happy with the finished product. 4/5 Stars.
